Volunteer Information

Anyone who volunteers in our schools is required to have current Act 34 (State Police Background Check), 151 (Child Abuse), and FBI clearances.

Additional information with regard to clearances and the Act 34 and 151 clearances may be obtained by clicking on the link to the Pennsylvania Department of Education website: http://www.education.pa.gov/Pages/search.aspx?searchBox=clearances#.VZU_JU3D_IV. Links for the Act 34 and 151 Clearances may be found there. One must report to a fingerprinting center to obtain the FBI clearance. Please click on the following link to view the locations: https://www.pa.cogentid.com/index_pdeNew.htm.

Once a volunteer receives the original clearances, he/she should bring the original clearances to the appropriate building principal. Copies will be made and be kept on file. Current employees of our school district are not required to renew their clearances for purposes of volunteering. Federal Programs will reimburse parents/guardians of children who attend Title I schools only (Bullskin, Dunbar Township, Springfield Twp, and West Crawford), in cases of hardship. If a parent/guardian would like to be reimbursed, the parent/guardian will need to bring the original clearance(s) and proof of payment(s) to the Office of Federal Programs in Central Office, 732 Rockridge Road Connellsville, PA 15425.
