Principal's Message

Welcome to West Crawford Elementary School! We service approximately 500 students from kindergarten through grade 5 in our recently renovated building. Students are engaged in traditional subjects as well as having the opportunity to innovate and explore through our makerspace, Smallab, and other technology.  We also have implemented a 1:1 initiative.

In addition, students also receive instruction in art, music, computers, health, physical education, and library/media education. Band and chorus are available for students in grades 4 and 5.  Title I and special education services are available for students needing additional instructional support.

Our Positive Behavior Support framework has flourished at West Crawford Elementary. We received our Tier I Banner during the 2018-19 school year. In addition, we have had the Olweus Bullying Program in place for many years.  Students are given the opportunity daily to have a nutritional breakfast and lunch through our cafeteria program. The West Crawford Parent Group is another invaluable asset that provides additional support to our school through field trips, programs, parties, etc.

The faculty and staff of West Crawford Elementary School, in partnership with parents and community members, are striving to build a system of supports where student achievement is at its core and students become well rounded citizens.  We strive as a school community to prepare our students with the 21st Century skills they will need to ensure success in the future.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Dana Stepanic, Principal
